You also have to find out what acidic foods or drinks are irritating it and lay off those until you heal. They never even diagnosed the gastritis I had to do that on my own too. It can't hurt to see doctor's for endoscopies, catscans, and certain medications but the best thing to do is to research and be your own doctor. Look at Crohn's for instance.
